Mysterious Light Appears in NASA Mars Photo

NASA photos taken on April 2nd and 3rd from the rover Curiosity show a strange light emanating from the surface of Mars. According to NASA, a bright light appears in single images taken by the “right eye” camera, but the same light doesn’t show up in images taken a fraction of a second later by the left eye camera.
NASA has offered several suggestions for the mysterious light, saying it could be light glinting from a rock, or possibly even light hitting the camera’s image sensor through a vent hole in the camera housing itself.
Others aren’t buying NASA’s suggestions, stating that the light is shining upward (not outward) and is therefore coming from underground the surface of Mars – furthermore claiming that this light is extraterrestrial in origin.
