McPike Mansion – The Most Haunted House?
McPike Mansion was built in 1869, and is commonly believed among the paranormal community to be one of the most haunted houses in North America. Paranormal investigators (and house guests) believe there are about 10 different spirits and ghosts that roam the dark hallways of this terrifying mansion. Throughout the history of the house, there have been reports about early deaths, violent hangings, and even cold blooded murders – all resulting in a house so haunted, it has to be experienced to be believed. Here’s a short clip from a documentary about McPike Mansion located in Alton, Illinois. Turn the lights down low and enjoy this creepy ghost video.

On the face of it this does lack substance (so to speak) but on the other other hand how do you explain a randomly moving cohesive body of mist in a supposedly sealed underground room? After all there can’t be any cross currents.

This is amazing!!! I don’t see how it could just change direction like that, without any windows down there. very cool!

I agree with Donald, it lacks hard evidance but what makes it feesable is how it moves and how could it move like it does. Also I noticed that it is very very thick, I mean if you kick up dust it leaves a thin layer of dust in the air for a few moments. This mist was especially thick… very interesting indeed.

Hey William I too share the last name. I’m currently researching the family history I believe my grandfather is a descendant of Henry McPike the original owner. I’d like to talk to you about the McPike last name and see if we are related somehow.

Really cool place, we have been there several times. Some of the things you see are hard to explain! I would highly recommend taking one of the tours, or better yet the overnight camp out on Halloween!
